I'm looking for a decent free chat room that I can link to and save in my favorites. I'm not having much luck going though the gazillion that show up in a search. Anyone have a good one? I found one that was adequate but when you try to save the link it doesn't save your specific one. And I'd like some smilies on it as well.

Have you tried http://gabbly.com ? It creates a chatroom on any web page you want to put it on. You can just set it up and save the link to your favorites. Unfortunately, no smilies---but it's reliable and doesn't require java. And no account to sign up for or code to install.
