Hey I was thinking of getting this rat cage... for two female rats. Is it good?



Also does anyone know how much Two Female rats cost at petsmart or petco?

I think the cage is a bit too big for 2 rats. Why don't get a female and a male so that they can produce more rats for you? :p

I used to have two geniu pigs but neighbor's cat got into my house one day and killed them both. :angry:
They were mini geniu pigs, small enough to hold both in your palm. They loved sleeping and running in the wheels :haha:

I use to have one Guniea Pig, and that sucker got big. As for other types of rats i have no clue, but I am sure Cory will give his input sooner or later. :d

That cage is particularly large for two rats, I think. However, it doesn't really matter if the cage is too large, as the rats will have more room to do the things they do. That cage would be fine for two rats. It'll probably be more expensive though, as it has multiple stories.

The price of Fancy Rats vary. You'll likely find one rat range anywhere from 5 dollars minimum to 15 dollars maximum. They're really not all that expensive; it's the rats accessories that are expensive.

To be honest, I don't think cages really have brands and such. It's based more on the size of the cage. Of course they're manufactured from certain companies. I'd say my cage is around the size of this cage. It may actually be slightly smaller. They're similar, though, and my cage has a bottom to it. My cage cost around 30 dollars, I believe.

A friend had a couple of Russian Dwarf hamsters and one ended up beheading the other : O

The cage looks lovely - problem with the integrated wheels is they tend to make a racket in my experience so if you're getting hamsters maybe don't keep them in your room ; )

That is so true....my sister had hamsters and listening to them run the wheels all night long was not fun. I would find myself plotting hamster mayhem at 4am. You know, like shackling them to the side bars of the cage with tiny handcuffs, or sticking a crowbar in that maddening wheel....

Well I decided I am going to get the Crittertrail X cage from petco..

anyone know how to say Roborovski hamster? I am going o call petco see if they have any but idk how to pronounce it.

They are so fast and cute...I made a bin cage for them it is huge.

aww, I love hampsters. I use to have two, but they died of heat stoke :'(, lived in Arizona at the time.

Had a couple more a few years later, but when we moved had to give them up. :( They eventually gave birth when we have them to my aunt and uncle and cousins.

I am wanting to get a hedgehog. They are so cute and cuddly :d
