Jay stole my topic title and posted it before me, grrr : D
Looks like a great site! Hope I can contribute.
EDiT> You really wrote the code index on IF Support? A little off that they didn't credit you, no? : /
OMG.....I am SO glad to see you here! Welcome! None of the staff here at the moment have any great coding skills, and I'm sure there will plenty of opportunity for you to contribute.
Yes, Cory devised the whole code index set-up and provided the lists to IF. In fact, the Code Archive existed long before this board was opened and has been available to IF users for a long time in the format that Scotty is using to display it on the IF board now. When this board was started, Cory put the archive into it's current format (using pages for the listings instead of forums & topics).
Cory keeps the Archive updated daily here, but does not have any more input into the upkeep of the one on the support board, which I believe is now depending on coders to PM them if they want their codes added into the current list.
And yes, I agree....there should have been some credit given. There was a thread in the IF Discussion forum where people were congratulating Scotty on the great job done with the Code Index. A couple of us brought up the history and Cory's contribution to it, and Scotty did eventually give some credit to him. But as far as I know, he has not been credited anywhere else that might be visible.
Thanks for the welcome!
I'm here for a couple of reasons. Firstly I wanted to check it out; you're a great supporter and so far I'm not disappointed with your site! Also my own board is moving away from InvisionFree coding and onto general coding. While the InvisionFree sections will remain this might be a nice place to send people who want specific IF support : )
What's this about you having no great coding skills? : D I've seen your work, you're getting a real talent at it.
And that cheeky lamer Scotty! Gah. I hope Cory gets his credit eventually, he's put an incredible amount of work into the archive and it looks as if that work will continue. Good luck to him : )
The skin archive is also pretty darn good too.
Welcome!
