Title: TCZ coding class - interested?

HelenaZF - January 30, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
The Coding Zone is a great site with lots of codes and help for IF/ZB and other board systems as well. Their admins (slaytanist and slayer76) and some other of the cool coders there are also BB members and you can find lots of their codes in our Members Only Code area. TCZ is offering a coding class....8 lessons each in javascript and php. Details and sign-up topic here:

http://thecodingzone.com/index.php/topic,5576.0.html

I'm going to take the javascript class. Hopefully, I'll learn enough to make editing my codes easier. At the present time, my javascript editing method consists of covering my eyes, and randomly inserting bits that seem logical into codes and hoping they will work. I would like to be able to do better than that. :)

You do have to be a TZC member to take the class, but there are no other requirements. Anybody want to join me?

[Edit: registrations close the 7th February]

Do you have to atleast know the basics of coding...
I'm only new to this and haven't started learning yet, if not, I'm happy to becoem a member of The Coding Zone and join you

EDIT: I signed up for a Javascript Tutorial with you Helena, let's see how it goes ^^

The school has blocked that link as "unknown". :(

Could you let me know when the deadline to enter is?

I will be getting my computer back Friday, so I hope it's not today. Because I would be interested in the PHP class.

HelenaZF - January 31, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
OK, RHRey! I'll see you in class. :) And BTW, welcome to BB. :welcome:

They are just started taking sign-ups a day or two ago, and the start date for the classes has not been announced yet that I can see. Maybe one of the TCZ guys can give us any more details available.

Chireru - January 31, 2008 07:53 PM (GMT)
Panzer and Eureka are waiting for enough members to begin
I'll let them know about you wanting to sign up, Clay
I'm sure as heck that they will wait until Friday
unless the deadline was later
lol

RHRey - January 31, 2008 09:15 PM (GMT)
Thanks Helana, I guess I'll see you there, and if it's on Friday, do you have any idea what time it will be in Australia? Lolz

HelenaZF - January 31, 2008 09:44 PM (GMT)
Since its a forum class, it won't matter what time zone we are in as the lessons will be posted up in a topic and we can do them within the time allotted--which will be about a week. Not sure what the board time is on TCZ, but at least one of the admins is from the UK, so that may be forum time there.

Hopefully, everyone that signs up will get a PM or some kind of notification that class is starting.

Chireru - January 31, 2008 10:07 PM (GMT)
um, is the UK England?
lol
I ask, because Slaytanist is from England (I think) and Slayer is from the state next to mine
lol
in the US

HelenaZF - January 31, 2008 10:11 PM (GMT)
yes... UK = United Kingdom :) user posted image

I thought slayer was from Canada......don't know where I got that idea.

Chireru - January 31, 2008 10:25 PM (GMT)
lol
no, Michagen (or it's spelled something like that, lol)
right beneath Canada
and right above Ohio
lol

HelenaZF - January 31, 2008 11:41 PM (GMT)
Deadline for signing up is a week from now.

QUOTE (Panzer)

HelenaZF - February 8, 2008 10:12 PM (GMT)

RHRey - February 8, 2008 10:36 PM (GMT)

RHRey - February 12, 2008 07:31 AM (GMT)
Ouch, gonna be late for class!

I have a huuuuge problem, I can't find the reply button -.-

Nevermind, the topic is closed DOH!

natyrox - February 13, 2008 05:15 PM (GMT)
LOL

I didn't have the time for these anyway :(

RHRey - February 17, 2008 08:07 AM (GMT)
I'm waiting for the next Lesson, hopefully it comes soon ^^

How are you going with yoru JavaScripting Helena?

HelenaZF - February 17, 2008 09:03 AM (GMT)
dismally. It's not making sense to me. I'm going to spend more time on it tomorrow with some tutorials and see if I can unravel what I'm supposed to do.

I didn't realize it was so much like algebra. I was pathetic at algebra.

RHRey - February 17, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
Is a bonus for me, because we're learning algebra at school at the moment xD

I've also taken my learning to further lengths by writing everything a book and studying it in spare class time... ^^
