Title: Member Designations and Symbols

The BB community has developed to a place where we have some unique member and group designations. This may answer some of the questions you may have about titles or symbols you see on our board.
You can get all the basic groups and ranks information on this page, which explains the staff and member groups, and member pip rankings. The link to the BB Groups and Ranks page is found under the About Us tab on the dynamic submenu.
Some other points of interest:
This symbol designates members of Club150. You can be in any member group and also be in Club150, which is a ranking for members who have made over 150 posts on Big Boards.
The Codes and Graphics Challenge winner's names are marked with this emblem. You'll see this icon traveling around different names, as the crown is transferred to the current challenge winner in both contests. To find out the current winners, click the icon in the member legend. It will take you to the winner's roster page.
Member Titles: We love and appreciate our coders and skinners, so we may assign them the "Cool IF Coder" or "Cool IF Skinner" member title, so please don't think these guys are bragging...we are bragging on them and want you to know how cool they are.
Merit Members: This is covered on the Groups and Ranks page, but bears repeating here. We confer Merit Member status on retired staff, and on members who have made significant contributions to the board or to the community. This could include coding or graphic work done for BB, or could be for resource contributions or in thanks for running community activities. We think that kind of loyalty deserves to be recognized, and so we created the BB Merit Member group.

:cory: Cory is our "King of Links", a title earned because he meticulously documents everything in his support responses with links to anything that he thinks might be of help to the requester. It's also a bit of a historical reference to all the work he has done on the massive archive indexes. At one time, Cory's member title was "chained to the archives".
:hzf: HelenaZF is a self-admitted "techno-feeb" and jokes about stuff falling out of the holes in her "swiss cheese brain". For Quantum Leap aficionados, you will remember this term as the memory loss side-effect of Sam's time-travel. FYI: you will be severely punished if you use this smilie in any but the most endearing way. What is the punishment? Something so terrible you can't even imagine it. :P
:clay: Clay is our choco-nerd computer geek. He can help you with an amazing array of broad-based computer knowledge and can be easily bribed with chocolate (of which he is required to pay a hefty tax to HelenaZF).
:mike: Mike (Mwr247 - that even sounds brainy, doesn't it?) is our wise and resourceful resident coding guru, hence the smilie, "Coda". With Mike, there is no try, there is only "do".
:morgan: Morgan, our newest BB moderator, is a music lover, and is the admin of his own music-based message board community. We think he rawks!
