Title: Why is no one using these forums?
Cory - June 6, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
I'm finding that the following forums are being rarely used or not used at all.
As the administrator, I would like to know why these forums are being unused.
The build-a-board service is still fairly new, so I guess it'll take some time before it's used.
Our forum roadsigns service has been open for nearly 3 months and hasn't been used once; we're likely going to replace it with a new service anyhow.
I suppose the relationships forum isn't being used because no one is having any relationship problems? Well then, that's good. :)
I thought the BB Member Shop would be a popular forum. It's basically a mini-market that allows you to sell, buy or auction off anything with BB credits. I've been having quite a dandy time using it, but I see only a few other members have explored its use too.
All feedback is appreciated.

1) i already have a board.
2) I usually resize my own images.
3) I save all that sort of posting for my own board (no offense)
4) I think that will take time for people to figure out what to offer and how to do it.

Build a board is a really good service, but there needs to be examples that shows the quality of boards you make. And more advertising on other sites with that feature as a leading point.

That's actually good point. Make some really professional looking boards that new administrators want their boards to look like, then the requests should pick up
I can make some examples for you if you want.

That's an interesting point about seeing examples of the build-a-board. Maybe we should solicit a couple of sample requests, and fill those to show as examples. Natyrox, would you like to make one of those requests? I'm also wondering if the 50 post count requirement might deter someone who would actually use it. But really, if you hadn't been on a board long enough to make 50 posts, would you even trust someone to make a board for you?
It's kind of hard to figure out just who our target users are for that service.

Forum roadsigns is about putting your advertising banner in the forum rules of a BB forum of your choice.

oh. :sigh: maybe that is why I havn't used it then. I don't know what it is
maybe the build a board might work better as a referrel. I've had people ask me before and I've turned them down. I could have referred the to here.

I'll work on some sample boards at the weekend :D

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
We're working on sample boards for the build-a-board service.

Sounds like an overall good idea, but I think I may have some other ideas in store for member referrals.
It's now confirmed that the forum roadsigns service will be replaced with a new advertising service.
I suspect the member shop will be used more when we release BB's official shop.
