Board Description: A Harry Potter Roleplaying site, set after the epilogue of the seventh book where there is a second branch of the wizarding school opened in New Zealand.

Well, many of the forum buttons aren't yet customised to fit our skin, but other than that... :)

Strengths

• Nice layout of forums and user groups.
• Custom domain is a nice addition.
• The informative forums are quite useful to members.

Weaknesses

• The skins defaults.
• The mass of content on the index page.

Recommendations

• Consider using images for the house points.
• Yes, custom images would be beneficial.
• If it's necessary, consider removing the "forum led by" text.
• Just for a clean look, consider putting a space between each affiliate image.
• I recommend hosting images on your board instead of an image host, just to speed up the response time.
• Consider using an "expand/collapse" code, due to the amount of forums you have.
• I suggest reducing the height of the "Announcements and Quick Updates" box and increase the width, adding the links beside each other. Or, you could always combine that box and the "House Points Board" box.
• Try and customize the skin to have no defaults. There's lots of improvements that can be made to the skin; if you need any help on making the skin look better, feel free to PM me. I might be able to help you with some custom images too.

I know some of your recommendations won't be welcomed on the board, which was to be expected and as such I probably won't end up using them :(
But I will be looking into more custom images, and the "Announcements and Quick Updates" area seems to be okay for the most part... though that may end up changing as well.. ^_^
I know that an expand/collapse code would be welcomed by many and I may look into one so long as the default is expanded XD
I've already added spaces to the affiliate links.

As to hosting the images on the board, how quickly will it fill up the maximum disk space do you think?

If you're worried about disk space you should consider registering a new "backup board" to upload these images on. As for your question, not much at all. BB currently has 121 files in the file manager and it has only taken up 4.48% of our total disk space.

Okay, I've been working on improving the board in your suggested ways and through those you PMed to me...

-> This just makes it more difficult to update for the other admin, so text seems to be working

Thanks to your co-admin on here our button set is completely custom (less the stats marker but I don't think that needs making over)

That area seems to help our members in knowing who to contact about which forums, and our mods to remember easily everything they mod XD

As stated, this has been done and you're right it does look better :)

I think members have become accustomed to the way it looks now and the elongated announcements board with links beside each other is on our sister site, I've put it on our test board to see how it would look with the layout we have and it just doesn't seem to suit it at all...

And as I said, this has been done. :-D
