What do you think about forum drama like it, love it or hate it?

Jayden.Earley - July 4, 2008 11:59 PM (GMT)
Against Me: Love It

Two People Against Eachother: Love It. :P ;)

Can't stand it. When it's on my board, it annoys the crap out of me, because most of my members are above that stuff, so when they get into it, I'm disappointed (and then of course I have to clean up the mess). When it's on other boards, especially when staff are involved, I think it's unprofessional and my opinion of that board usually drops dramatically.

Drama is stupid enough in real life; on forums, it's just ridiculous.

I find it fascinating to watch, but I want no part of being involved in it. I used up all my adrenaline years ago.

A good intellectual mud-slinging match is quite entertaining...however, you don't get those very often, usually the combatants run out of cerebral fuel in about 2-3 posts (if they even make it that far) and it degenerates into ad hominem arguments, name calling and filthy language. That's really no fun at all for anyone with any sensibility. Who needs that kind of junk inserted into their thought loop for the day.

Jayden.Earley - July 5, 2008 02:37 AM (GMT)
Yeah lol it keeps up activity :D

wissaboo - July 5, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
I love them when they aren't on my board

Jayden.Earley - July 5, 2008 03:20 AM (GMT)
Yeah i also have to agree with wissaboo

I love forum drama, argumentation almost always lead to something better. Not in all cases of course, but the few times it does makes it all worth it. I'm a person that can keep my head cool in most situations and almost never goes as far as bad language unless I use it as an example.

Jeremy RR - July 6, 2008 01:13 AM (GMT)
Some of it is pathetic and funny. Some of it is just stupid ignorant arguing.

Leon [RR] - July 6, 2008 01:14 AM (GMT)
I love some and hate some :P

Considering I just got called some names I won't repeat because I'm not sure they're allowed here... oh, and it was one of the ADMINS who used the "f-word"... <_<

The only time I am in favor of forum drama is if it's an RPG-related or storytelling thread. Otherwise, go find the nearest kindergarten, because I don't want it on any forum I'm a part of -- whether I'm the admin, a mod, or an average member.

Ditto .

My board never really has any drama though, we're a close knit group of friends from an online game, and we all get on brilliantly.

That said, some of the other boards that provide information about the game can get very heated, and I do enjoy watching a good slanging match.

Forum Drama seperates the boys from the men.

You can see who's mature and wise, and who's ignorant and immature.

 I like that. I may use it.

I have an area for that on my board, for two people in conflict to get it off their chest so that they don't bring down the entire forum with their b.s.

This area is only accessible to those members in conflict and staff.. so that we don't air out anyone's dirty laundry. After they have said what they needed to, we say a few impartial last words, and it is then locked, and never to be spoken of again outside of that area. The topic is then archived so that anyone else with a conflict, cannot read the others, since it is not their business.

I have zero-tolerance for that sort of behavior.

Nivexonix - September 13, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
I hate it. It' pointless, in my opinion. A forum is meant for discussion with other people. Why should I have to deal with people who intend to just break the harmony?

wildsun34 - September 16, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
I've sadly when I was younger started drama on boards just for attention or because my tempter goes off if someone makes me mad. But that doesn't happen anymore, mainly because I grew up lol

I think its stupid and the things I've seen on boards are crazy. Having a smart conversation is one thing but when it gets down to nasty name calling, no your out of line. :zip:

I'll quote someone from ST.com

"arguing on the internet is like getting a gold medal in the special olympics.

even if you win your still retarded"

While that's not exactly politically correct it does have a certain ring of truth about it

stevie-ann - September 25, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
I hate drama, it usually leads to fights and people wanting to leave the forum lol :D
