Board Name: Mount Olympus Nintendo Forums (Mount Olympus for short)
Board URL: http://www.monf.org
Board Description: A general nintendo forum for gamers of all ages. We have "seasons" of Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournaments now, winners at the end of the Season receive Wii Points! We use a chat-box for you to discuss with friendly forum members in real-time.
Specific things you would like a comment on (optional): The board is generally active on weekdays from 3-10PM est, on the weekends it's usually much more quiet. This weekend (today) I'm performing an update at the moment and the board will not be up for a little longer. I'm Zeustheking1 on the forums.

  • Your portal page is well organized, interesting and your announcements are exciting and are written in a way that should make Nintendo-loving guests want to join your forum. Good job!
  • Great list of updates, having the default skin change often is a good idea for a gaming forum. Do your members like that feature? I haven't seen a board that changes the default that often.
  • Banner is effective and fits the theme/name of the board.
  • Donkey Kong skin is a nice one.
  • You've got some avid posters...a great asset for any board.
user posted image Weaknesses
  • Shoutbox background doesn't blend with default skin.
  • Maybe this is because I'm not a gamer of any kind, but there are things on the board like the friends list, for instance, that I have no idea what is...and there doesn't seem to be anything explaining what it is. I would check around for stuff like that and make sure you tell people what stuff is.

  • Don't cut off post viewing especially in your main board forums. People like to look at old suggestion topics, announcements and bug reports, for instance. It's a way to get to know the board a little better.
  • Your market place offers some good potential. It would be good to develope it more and add more stuff.
  • On the whole it looks to me like you are running a successful board, with frequent updates and ongoing contests and things members can get involved in. My advice would be to continue on the current path and just keep looking to add and do thing that your members enjoy.
