I design and make large tapestry style banners. Over the years, I've seen my designs copied and remade (poorly, I might add). One can, in a sense take that as a flattery.....at least you produced something worth copying.....but it would be nice to have an acknowledgement that your work was an inspiration to them at the very least. Web graphics to me seem more disposable, as they are less tangible than material art. I don't know that anyone has ripped any of my web designs, but I give them away freely anyway, so it's not a big concern for me.

Train Insane or remain the same Posts: 1,029 Group: Members Member #234 Joined: August 26, 2006	EH,I can't stand people that rip graphics.People that actually care about their work actually put alot of time and effort into their graphics and for people to rip them is just disguisting. >_> Although,I've neve rhad anyone try to rip my work yet...but I'd say that's because I haven't reached a high enough level for my work to be good enough to rip.xD

I know I use random stuff I find on photobucket, mainly avatars but I never claim to have made them. So at least I don't think anyone would consider me a ripper for it? Now I don't use stuff from deviantart unless it says in the descriptions on there that you're allowed to, so if there's something that say I may not allowed to use it, I do not use it.
	Best board ever, if you're a random fun person. IMO

BB Delta Posts: 213 Group: Members Member #11,380 Joined: April 7, 2009 Mood Relieved	I know only of one time, when someone cut a logo I spent ages making for their site from a banner I did for them, and put it in their own without asking or credit, and stated they made the banner and got credit from everyone on the site. Until I reminded everyone who did the logo that is.

All the themes that I have made for SMF For Free have been ripped and posted on SMF Forums and yet the guy never changed the image urls so it was easy for him to get caught. Also I have had a few sigs ripped just from one guy and he decided to look through my tutorials and take out an image from it so it doesn't look just like the finished product. The annoying thing was he entered it into a SOTW on a forum and he won even though I told people that it was ripped. I guess it was good enough to win though xD
