"New Window" just means you are making a new webpage. (rather than editing one) Page ID: Must contain only letters, numbers, or underscores. [Max field length is unknown] Put the name that you want to appear after the last slash in the URL that will appear in your address bar Page Title [Max field length is unknown] This is the title that will appear on the webpage you are creating Link to this page in the board menu?A link to this page would be put in the menu bar that includes links to your rules, calendar, search system, etc. Yes No (self-explanatory) Page Content Use HTML code here to build your web page. All webpages are available for guest viewing at any time. If you are thinking of using this as your front page for your board, you can toggle that command (once the page is created) here: Board Customization > Board Preferences > Board Set up > Front Page |

You are most welcome. Your webpage will already have the frame and headers that other board pages have. (including ads, unfortunately) The only thing you have to add is your content. If you know how you want that arranged, you can post it here and someone can set it up for you in HTML. |

My contents will be a biography section for the people (to whom my forum is now based on), article/news section, then a gallery to put the pix, a video section, forum section (where my forum will be linked), an affiliate part, poll section where guest can vote too, the forum's existing CBox will also be accessible in the website page, about us section. that's all I can remember now!!! will it be a long code or lengthy to make?? thanks |

It sounds like you basically want the portal, but on steroids. ![]() Perhaps the Portal might work for your vision for the basic parts, and you could have separate webpages and links to them for the gallery and videos. (Portal modules already consist of board links, latest news section, affiliate area and poll.) Web page links can be configured to display in your submenu. The portal can be selected as the board's front page. The ZB Cbox will be released soon, and that can be displayed on the portal. (You can have it now by purchasing ZB Premium). Is using the portal something you might want to consider? |

No problem...it's a new system, and we all have had to learn it. ![]() You can see the BB portal by going to this URL: http://bigboardsresources.com/site You can see the modules we have enabled there, including setting a poll module. If you go to ZBThemeZone, you can see a portal that uses the ZB shoutbox: http://zbthemezone.com/site/ The content of the portal is made up of predetermined modules. You will find the choices here: Board Customization > Board Preferences > Portal You can add custom modules through the Portal Manger Board Customization > Portal Manager Either the portal or a webpage can be set to become your board's front page. The webpage is, however, free to configure as you like (as long as you write the code) |

In my opinion, managing the portal rather than trying to do a website page is a better choice for you since most of what you want to do is already options available on the portal. With your level of coding knowledge, you will have an easier time making changes or edits on a portal front page than you would managing a custom webpage that someone would have to build for you. You would most likely use the "upper main section" as the webpage main information window, and could build that into a custom content block. I do not believe you can make a forum poll useable by unregistered guests. If you want a poll that guest can vote in, your option would be to install a poll code in a custom content module. You would then have to direct your members to also vote on the portal rather than in a topic poll. You might try: http://www.flexipoll.com/ or PollDaddy.com You could also put your current Cbox in a custom content module. ![]() The Register link is already on the portal (look next to welcome Guest at the top left of the page). However, you can add another one to the submenu, or you can make a custom content block which could list the Register link and any other special links you want to feature, including special webpage links. This doc on Hyperlinks may help you set up your links. Get your register link by right-clicking on the register link and selecting "copy link location" or "copy shortcut" (depending on what browser you are using) You can enable the center section here: Board Customization > Preferences > Portal "Show Posts From" Choose the forum to display in the portal, and the most recent posts will show up there. Also choose how many posts you want to display. |

of course you may call me Helena. That is my name To install your Cbox code in a module, choose the HTML option in the custom content box. Then paste your c-box code in there. I don't know how you have your Cbox configured, but if it goes the width of your page, you can choose the "footer" option in placement and use the exact same coding. If you want it somewhere else on the portal, you will need to adjust the width measurement in the C-box code to fit the module, and set the height to whatever you like. (Look in the code for something like this: width="500" height="275" and change the numbers until it works for the space. It looks like you could go up to an 800px width for your theme layout in the footer area) Your same conversations will appear in both the portal version and the version on the other parts of your board as users will be posting to the same box. I'm not sure what you are doing that is causing things to disappear. First make sure your Portal is enabled in the Board Customizations > Preferences > Portal section. Give it a name and a link name. If you are going to use it as your front page, I would suggest "Home" or "Home Page" as that is what most sites call their main page. To set up a links custom content block in your portal, follow this sequence: Board Customization > Portal Manager: Click "add new portal content" Block Title : put what you want in the title bar that appears on the top of the block. Something like "Important Links" or whatever you want to call it. Placement : choose where you want the block to appear Placement Priority : This sets the order with other blocks appearing in that column on the portal page Choose "Plain text with BBcode" Place this in the content text area:
If you wanted to use a register button image for the link, use this code:
If you would rather set up with HTML, I can help you with that, but for just plain hyperlinks text or image, BBcode should work just fine |

You could put pix in a custom content box and place it at top/center. (That would also be a great place to have a welcome message and small blurb about the purpose of the site, possibly with some graphic interest) However, if you have a lot of pix, you might want to put them on a custom webpage, and use just one or two in the main portal block. Those images could hyperlink to the custom web page with the rest of the pix. Another idea would be to have one large pic, and the rest thumbnails that link to full size pictures if you need to save space. |

pix in custom content box ? that means I will have to put the image url links on the blank space of the content area of portal managers like? what's the code of making a 320X240 or larger size pix into clickable thumbnails? so when guest clicks the thumbnails they get directed to the forum section where the pix are posted in hosting a webpage means I will have to purchase it right? but I am restricted from my parents to make such decisions

You would not have to purchase a website...I was referring to putting your pix on a ZB web page and linking to that. Use the webpage maker in you ACP. It's just like the custom content box, only it is a whole page you can link to, not just a module. Additionally you ZB webpage link can be easily added to your submenu by just selecting that option. To make a thumnail image link to it's full sized image you would use one of these codes: BBcode:
You can use and of the s HTML hyperlink variations listed in the doc I linked you to earlier...this is just the basic code. |

In the webpage maker, you will need to use HTML code (you may use BBcode in the portal custom content blocks). You will need a few basic HTML commands like a line break <br/> to separate lines, but you should be able to set up your page with the codes above and plain text. If you provide a screen shot of what you would like the gallery web page to look like, and a list of your picture urls it would make it easier to advise you. |

try googling "photo gallery page" and check out some examples. A simple way to do it is to put center tags at the beginning and end and then add your image code, go to the next line and add whatever text you want, add a blank line or two, then repeat. If you want several images in a row, you will need to set up tables in code or div tags in HTML.Use HTML codes I listed above. If you would like someone to set it up for you, post the content and image URLs here and we can code it for you. Where do you want your affiliate listings to appear. |

maybe this type http://www.cornhill.org/images/b3_00_gallery_page.jpg or this http://www.primalmedia.com/files/images/photo-gallery.jpg which you think easier to put...I just want guest to view the thumbnails but only members can view the enlarged photo. That means when anyone click the thumbnails they will be redirected to the thread where the photo is posted and guest will see a error message telling them to register I want the affiliate listings to appear in the footer above the board stat of the portal only. |

The second one is easier. OK, what you would do then, is resize your images to the thumbnail size you want to use, and link to the post URL where the image is displayed. You can do this with an easy online image editor like http://www.pixlr.com/ (Use the slider on the navigator panel on the right to resize the image to whatever you want, then click File > Save). Host the image file on your board by uploading it to a post. If you like, you can use the thumbnails made by saving your images to a site like http://imageshack.us or http://www.pict.com/ Just use the code they give you for the thumbnails in the HTML version, and replace the <a href= section URL with your topic post URL. [Note: the thumbnails from Imageshack are small, the ones for pict.com are larger.) Then on your webpage use this code: (replace the green parts with your own information)
Here is the simplest way to do it. Put as many thumbnail image codes as you want in a row, and then use <br/> to start the next line of images. Your web page code will look something like this:
leaving empty lines in HTML will not show up as it does in BBcode, you must use the <br/> tag. Leave an empty space between the thumbnail hyperlinks. If you want more space than that, you can add it in with other characters or by adding this: & nbsp; (no space after the & )each time you want to add an additional space. (repeat the above section for each row of 4 thumbnails, or make rows longer as desired) <H2> determines the size of the text for your title. As the numbers increase, the size decreases, so H1 is biggest - H6 would be very small To add your affiliate listings to the foot of your portal, add a custom content box and choose the footer location for it. Set it up like the pictures your gallery, except using BBcode for the hyperlinks, (just like you would to put an advertising image in a signature):

That's up to you..... depends on how many thumbnails you have to display probably. And if you want the images featured on your front page or not. If only a few, you could put it in one of the center blocks of the portal. If many, put them on a webpage and enable a link to it in your submenu. (That is done in the website maker.) You might also use the footer placement of the portal page if you want to use the full width of the page. And, you're welcome. ![]() There are a lot more sophisticated ways to do a gallery, but what I gave you is the simplest and easiest to understand and edit way. I hope the instructions make sense to you. |
