Board URL: n/a What browser(s) are you using? google chrome Your Issue/Question: Right, I currently had an award system on my board but I had to get rid of it because I had no more charchater space on my board template. Is there any way of getting a bigger size, where it will allow more charchater space? or a better award system that don't take up alot of space??? |

You can have virtually unlimited wrapper space by hosting your codes. See this documentation: http://bigboardsresources.com/pages/689587/ |

It's not a code..it's a way to compact the information in your board wrappers, and yes...if the code works in ZB the hosted code will also work in ZB. Follow the instructions in the doc, which is basically to save a file to your hard drive and then upload it to your board. The difference between IF and ZB boards is that you can upload a .js file on ZB boards, so you can just copy the link directly from the upload display in the post rather than have to go to the ACP file manager for it. Put the hosted URL in the javascript format given and place that snippet in your board wrappers in the same place the orginal code was installed. |

depends on what you want to do. We can host all the codes that go in the same section in one upload. That's the best way, because hosting them separately is like getting things out of the refrigerator. You can open the door once and get mulitple items, or you can open and close the door once for each item. It's more efficient to host them in a group. It's also more efficient for loading, because browsers will cache the remotely hosted codes rather than having to load them each time a user refreshes your page. However sometimes you have a code that you are editting all the time. You might what to host that code on it's own. Like your awards code. So you might want to host that separately. Its up to you. Once we host it for you, it is not forever beyond your control You can always access the upload file, edit it and upload it yourself and replace it in the code. Sometimes it helps though, to get you started so you can see how it is done.

Yes I would rather just have the award code hosted, As I will be always editing it. So let me get this straight, If you guys host the award system for me I can have unlimited charcater on the board template? Because that was the problem before we got so far but I had to stop because they're was no more space left.. And will I be able to edit this code like normal to add new awards? |

If you host a code, no matter how many characters it has in it, this is what you will put in your wrappers:
So yes, in effect you have unlimited space. However in reality, there is a limit to how much you can load your board down with codes without making it so slow to load that it would be detrimental. The way you would edit the code is to copy the URL from with in the script above (http://68.13.999.99/9999/27/upload/p9999999.js) open it in a browser window, and then copy paste it to NotePad. Do you editing in NotePad, then save the code as a .js file and then attach it to a post on your board. Insert the URL of THAT file in the code above instead of the one you just opened in your browser. Then, each time you want to edit the code, do the same thing and replace the attached file in your post. You won't have to change anything in your board template if you do it that way. |

If the announcement box contains tables, it would have to be hosted another way. But the best way to find out is to post up your codes and then we can sort it out. Use the code tags and add a note for us saying where you have each code installed in your board template. |

The last code should produce a links dropdown like this: http://209.85.48.8/9764/158/upload/p3870669.gif If you dont' see that on your board, it's probable that either the code is not edited properly, or your theme coding is somehow preventing it from displaying. You might try Mikes hosting tool: http://mwr247.atwebpages.com/ The only disadvantages I can think of to hosting your codes is that you might forget where you uploaded the files. Host them on the board that is using them and the codes will never go down unless your board is down. |

I think this will be easiest for you . This was hosted on the hosting tool I linked you to above. { http://mwr247.atwebpages.com/ } When you want to edit it, just input your edited code into the input area there and use the code it generates in your template.

I'm giving you a way to bypass the notepad method..just use the code hosting tool. It does it all for you. However, to answer your question, the sequence is: code to Notepad with <script> tags stripped off. "Save as" to hard drive as .js file (choose all files from dropdown in save screen) upload to post on your ZB board as a post attachment Copy URL of attachement, and insert into this format:
Place that in your template wherever the unhosted code would have gone. |

no. Do you have an admin forum? This is where you should upload any files for your board. First make sure that your admin group has uploads enabled for the forum you will be posting in. (you cando that in forum permissions) You will know if it does if there is a "browse" button on your new topic compose screen. That is where you will upload the .js file you have saved to your computer. |

Right mate, I've saved the code into notepad and attached it and posted it in the staff section where I can only see it. And I've posted the scripted code into 'below the board'.. so all I need to do now when I need to change it is.. edit the notepad save it.. and do I need to upload it and attach it to a post everything i need to edit it? and then change the url of the scripted code with the new url?

If you edit the post and replace the same upload file, you will not have to touch the code in the ACP. So...edit the file, save it, and replace the upload in the post with the newly edited file. That's it.
