Dec. 17 (Bloomberg) -- World leaders flying into Copenhagen today to discuss a solution to global warming will first face freezing weather as a blizzard dumped 10 centimeters (4 inches) of snow on the Danish capital overnight.

Temperatures will stay low at least the next three days, Henning Gisseloe, an official at Denmarks Meteorological Institute, said today by telephone, forecasting more snow in coming days. There is a good chance of a white Christmas.

Delegates from 193 countries have been in Copenhagen since Dec. 7 to discuss how to fund global greenhouse gas emission cuts. U.S. President Barack Obama will arrive before the summit is scheduled to end tomorrow.

Denmark has a maritime climate and milder winters than its Scandinavian neighbors. It has not had a white Christmas for 14 years, under the DMIs definition, and only had seven last century. Temperatures today fell as low as minus 4 Celsius (25 Fahrenheit).

DMI defines a white Christmas as 90 percent of the country being covered by at least 2 centimeters of snow on the afternoon of Dec. 24.


I'm waiting for the inevitable statement from them that this PROVES the theory of global warming. haha

 Well, it kind of might. :r
1) Snow can't happen when it's too cold - so maybe it's been too cold the last several years and now it's warm enough to snow (closer to 0 celsius)
2) Global Warming, funnily enough, will throw the world in to an ice age if it all happens right. Icecaps melting will send cold water in to the oceans, but will start at the top and work its way down. This will break up many crucial ocean currents needed to warm the planet, including The Gulf Stream. This will send Europe in to an ice age first, then the rest of the world will follow. xD

Anywho, yay for white Christmasses! ^_^

 I think the whole global warming movement has to go back to the drawing board after this recent scandal where it was revealed that data had been manipulated byt the research community to influence the outcomes. It's made the whole movement a laughingstock to thinking people. The whole theory wilil have to be reproven now with honest scientific data if it's going to gain any real respectability.
